A court here on Wednesday issued production warrant against former media baron Indrani Mukerjea in a money laundering case allegedly involving Karti Chidambaram, son of former Union Minister P. Chidambaram.
Special Judge Sunil Rana allowed the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) plea seeking production warrant against Indrani Mukerjea, who is jailed in Mumbai in connection with the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora.
The court directed the concerned authorities to present Indrani before it on September 9.
Public Prosecutor Nitesh Rana told the court that the agency wants to quiz Indrani in the money laundering case.
On May 19, the ED lodged a complaint against Karti alleging that he had received Rs 3.5 crore from INX Media, now 9X Media, for helping it in the clearance of a Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) proposal when his father was the Union Finance Minister.

The FIPB clearance was given to the Mumbai-based INX Media when it was run by Peter and Indrani Mukerjea, both accused in the Sheena Bora murder case.
The complaint had not mentioned the name of former minister Chidambaram, though it stated that he cleared the FIPB approval for Rs 4.62 crore Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the FIPB meeting on May 18, 2007, when he was holding the Finance portfolio in the previous United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
The accused have denied all the charges against them.
