The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has sharply hiked the cost of travelling on its Delhi-Lahore Bus service from Rs.1,500 to Rs.2,400, an official said Monday.

This is the first hike since February 2008 when fares were fixed at Rs.1,500 per passenger.

The service was launched by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in March 1999.
