Delhi Police Wednesday asked the management of all religious places to step up security for fear of possible terror attacks.

A month after a church was gutted in east Delhi's Dilshad Garden, a minor fire broke out at the Church of Resurrection in Rohini Jan 3.

"We have asked all religious places to install CCTVs inside and outside the campus and step up the security. We have also asked shopkeepers and citizens to install such cameras," Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi told the media.

The advisory comes following intelligence inputs of a possible terror attack in major cities, including Delhi.

"It is not an instruction, but an appeal to the people to install CCTVs for their own security. This will also help us take swift action in case of any criminal activity," Bassi added.

CCTVs have already been installed at all railway stations and bus stops to keep a strict vigil on suspicious and anti-social activities.

According to Delhi Police, CCTVs are "crucial in solving criminal cases".
