Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) bomb expert Abdul Karim Tunda was indulging in terror activities in India with the help of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, the Delhi Police has said.

The Delhi Police March 12 filed a chargesheet against Tunda in a 1994 case pertaining to recovery of explosive substances.

Police said Tunda was having links with the ISI and the Indian Mujahideen (IM) operatives and they had assured him of help in carrying out terror attacks in India.

Police added that Tunda met Dawood in Karachi through Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) member Lakhbir Singh's aide Iqbal Bunty in 2002.

"Dawood had made a proposal before Tunda to help him in planning and carrying out terror strikes in India. After six-seven months, Tunda again met Dawood. At that time, Dawood assured him of providing money for preaching Jihad in Madarsas of Pakistan," police said.

Police said that Tunda was given charge by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of providing explosive materials to BKI for terror strikes in the country during the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

The plan was foiled after Bangladesh police arrested Tunda's aide from the India-Bangladesh border.

The chargesheet was filed before Additional Sessions Judge Bharat Parashar to "clarify" the prosecution's case regarding charges slapped under the stringent Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) against Tunda.

Tunda was declared a proclaimed offender in the case of recovery of explosive substances registered at south Delhi's Malviya Nagar police station in 1994.

Some accused were arrested Jan 17, 1994, and 150 kg explosives and six daggers were seized from them.

Police said Tunda is involved in 33 bomb blasts in India between 1994 and 1998, 22 of those in Delhi. He was arrested in August 2013.
