The Delhi Police on Wednesday submitted a detailed report to the union home ministry over "illegally raiding" the Kerala House here over allegations that beef was being served there.

"A detail report over the beef row has been submitted to the home ministry," Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat told IANS.

Bhagat said the report, which includes the action taken by Delhi Police over the issue, was submitted on Wednesday afternoon.

On Monday, some 20 police officers "raided" the Kerala House after the Hindu Sena alleged that cow meat was served in its premises. But it turned out that Kerala House only served buffalo meat.

Police action has come in for widespread criticism.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police arrested Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta for filing a false complaint that cow meat was being served at the Kerala House canteen.

A case under section 107 (abetment) and 151 (knowingly joining assembly of five or more persons after it has been commanded to disperse) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against Gupta at Connaught Place police station in central Delhi.
