Delhi records season's lowest maximum temperature

The national capital Friday recorded the lowest maximum temperature of the season at 12.9 degrees Celsius with the entire day remaining cloudy and gray and with rainfall in some parts.

The maximum temperature recorded was seven notches below average. The Met office has forecast light rain Saturday.

"At around 2 p.m. it looked like it was evening and very chilly," Rachit Kumar, a Delhi University student, told IANS.

"There could be light rain towards the afternoon Saturday with dense fog in the morning," the India Meteorological Department official said.

The day's minimum temperature was recorded a notch above average at eight degrees Celsius. Humidity hovered between a high and low of 100 and 85 percent.

 

According to Northern Railways, 22 trains were running late, 17 have been re-scheduled and one cancelled.

Saturday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 15 and 10 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Thursday's maximum temperature settled at 17.7 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average while the minimum temperature was recorded two notches above average at nine degrees Celsius.
