Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday directed the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) to file a charge sheet against a school principal for embezzlement of funds, an official said.

The official said Ashok Kumar Singh, the principal of Government Boys Senior Secondary School in west Delhi's Nithari area, was suspended for embezzlement of Rs.27.9 lakh from the students welfare fund.

"Getting complaint about the misuse of government fund by Singh, a preliminary investigation was conducted at the school," the official said in a statement.

"The government also conducted a special audit of the school in which the embezzlement of Rs.2795,420 from student welfare fund surfaced between academic years 2008-09 and 2012-13," the statement said.

"After investigation, the principal was suspended and a first information report was lodged against the principal of the school in ACB," it added.
