It was a sunny morning in the national capital on Thursday with the maximum temperature set to touch 40 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) though predicted some respite soon. "There are chances of drizzling and light showers on Friday," an IMD official said.
Strong winds on Thursday improved the air-quality to moderate at 9 a.m. for Delhi and NCR. The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 41 per cent.
Wednesday's maximum temperature settled at 38.2 degrees Celsius -- a notch above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.7 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
