Delhi shootout: Victim's kin meets Rajnath

The kin of Manoj Vashishth, who was killed by a team of Delhi Police Special Cell officers in central Delhi's Rajendra Place area, termed it a fake shootout

The family of the man killed in a shootout by Delhi Police on Saturday met Home Minister Rajnath Singh here on Monday and demanded a fair probe into the case.

The kin of Manoj Vashishth, who was killed by a team of Delhi Police Special Cell officers in central Delhi's Rajendra Place area, termed it a fake shootout.

The family, including Vashishth's wife Priyanka, met Rajnath Singh at his residence here, demanding an inquiry into the incident.

According to police, Vashishth had more than 50 cases of attempt to murder and cheating registered against him in Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh.

 

Police also claimed that Vashishth along with his wife and father-in-law was wanted in a case of cheating registered by the economic offences wing (EOW) of Delhi Police.

A police officer told IANS that Vashishth, a resident of west Delhi's Patel Nagar hailed from Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat city.
