Delhi should form expert panel on pollution: BJP leader

Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay on Thursday demanded an experts committee to analyse the reasons for excessive pollution in the national capital and thereafter a task force to monitor pollution control work.

He said the Delhi government should stop playing what he termed "gimmicks" in the name of public welfare work while dealing with pollution here.

Calling the odd-even vehicle regulation scheme a gimmick, Upadhyay said: "Pollution is a big problem that cannot be tackled through gimmicks. Soon, we may find a new advertising campaign (by the Aam Aadmi Party government) on radio and newspapers in the name of pollution control," said Upadhyay.

He said the Arvind Kerjriwal government should immediately provide funds to the municipal bodies in Delhi for reorganising garbage dumping sites, which too caused pollution.
