Delhi to host dance, music, theatre carnival in February

A blend of orchestra, electronic dance music (EDM) and hip hop performances by international and homegrown artistes is set to enthrall people here at Navrasa Duende Global Carnival from February 23 to 25.

The three-day carnival will feature an array of musical, dance and theatrical performances along with events dedicated to literature, architecture and spiritual wellness, read a statement.

Taking place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the carnival will have Western Classical Symphony, Dublin Philharmonic Orchestra (UK) with a 75-piece orchestra.

The EDM night will have artistes like ALPHA 9 (Russia), Afishal (UK), Anish Sood (India) and Red Bull Flying Bach by Flying Steps Entertainment (Germany) to deliver high octane performances.

 

The extravagnaza will also have a production combining Baroque period's late music composer Johann Sebastian Bach's music and break dance by artiste Flying Steps, choreographed by opera Director Christopher Hagel.

The One Mega Indian Classical Concert will feature artistes like Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia and sitar maestro Shujaat Khan.

Navrasa Duende Global Carnival will also have a Sufi night with Rekha Bhardwaj, Javed Ali, Nizami Bandhu Opera show 'Night at Opera' by London Festival Opera (UK), dance company Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba's fusion of ballet, flamenco, cha-cha-cha, rumba, bolero, and Salsa dance in a theatrical manner.

Other events at the carnival will include theatre and dance concerts, photography, painting, and sculpture exhibitions, screening of feature films, wellness sessions, interiors product exhibitions, literary events, fashion shows and more.

Dinesh B. Singh, Founder and CEO at Navrasa Duende, said: "The Global Carnival is a first of its kind experience in India wherein artists and performers from the country and around the world will come together to create a Broadway Street-like atmosphere and showcase both popular, and indigenous forms of art simultaneously.

"We are confident that it will set a precedent for other live entertainment properties in the future as well."
