A traffic head constable was beaten up Tuesday morning by a 35-year-old lawyer for objecting to his driving in the wrong lane, Delhi Police said.
The incident took place around 10.30 a.m. near Rohini court in Prashant Vihar area.
Virender Sangwan slapped head constable Santosh Kumar, deputed at Rohini traffic circle, when he stopped his vehicle being driven on the wrong side of the road.
A case under sections 186, obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions, and 353, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty, of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the lawyer but he is yet to be arrested.
"Sangwan has not been arrested yet," Deputy Commissioner of Police Vikramjit Singh said.
