Delhi traffic police have advised commuters to avoid the stretch of Rajpath between Janpath and Man Singh Road from September 15 to 20, for the golden jubilee celebrations of the 1965 India-Pakistan war.

"For five days, starting from September 15, the stretch of Rajpath between Janpath and Man Singh Road will remain closed for the 1965 Indo-Pak war golden jubilee celebrations," police said in an advisory.

During the celebrations, traffic will remain heavy in New Delhi area, particularly on C-Hexagon, Tilak Marg, Purana Qila Road, Shahjahan Road, Akbar Road, Janpath, Man Singh Road, Windsor Place, Ashoka Road and Mandi House, the traffic advisory said.

"General public headed for other areas is hereby advised to avoid these roads and instead use Mathura Road or Mother Teresa Crescent," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sandeep Goel.

"The celebrations will be held at the Rajpath lawns between Man Singh Road and Janpath from September 15 to 20. The event will witness an exhibition for five days and a carnival on the last day (September 20)," the advisory said.
