Delhi witnesses three fire incidents on Thursday

The national capital on Thursday witnessed three incidents of fire at different locations, including a vegetable market in west Delhi, fire officials said.

However, no casualties were reported from anywhere.

According to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), the first case was reported from a vegetable market at Keshopur area in west Delhi at 10.40 a.m.

"Fifteen fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames. It was finally brought under control at 11.20 a.m.," A.K. Sharma, chief of DFS, told IANS.

Sharma said the fire broke out in vehicles carrying vegetables.

The second incident was reported from a footwear showroom on the first floor of a building in Nangloi area of west Delhi.

 

"Twenty-two fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire which was caused due to an electrical short-circuit in an air-cooler," a DFS official said.

The fire was brought under control at 1.50 p.m.

The third incident was reported from Samalkha, also in west Delhi area, were 20 fire tenders have been rushed.

A fire official said the fire was first noticed at 1.25 p.m. Fire fighters were battling the blaze late in the afternoon.
