A woman doctor working in Delhi was allegedly molested here by a group of hooligans, police said Tuesday.

The incident involving the homeopathic doctor, 27, working at South Extension in Delhi, occurred on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway (35 km from Delhi) on Holi (March 17).

"A Faridabad-based woman who is now living in Delhi came to Gurgaon with four friends in a car after Holi celebrations to have snacks at a McDonald's outlet near Manesar (some 15 km from Gurgaon city). She was molested near Raj Nagar," police officer Rajbala told IANS.

"She was standing outside the car while her four friends were away for some work when a dozen youth came on bikes and cars and started molesting her. They beat up the woman's friends when they objected on their return and snatched her mobile before leaving the spot," the police said.

According to sources, Delhi Police stopped the car (when they were returning) after noticing the woman sitting in the vehicle with the four men was crying.

After getting details, Delhi Police informed their Gurgaon counterparts about the incident. A case under sections 379 (snatching-theft), 354 A (molestation) and 34 (common intent) was registered against unknown men at the City police station.

No one has been arrested so far.
