The death toll due to dengue in West Bengal has gone up to 11, an official said on Saturday.

"As many as 1,422 cases have been reported since January this year," Health Services Director B.R. Satpathi said.

Satpathi said the health department is trying to ascertain the viral strain that is circulating this year.

The state government had issued a warning against letting water stagnate in any premises.
