There are little chances of rain here on Friday when the ceremonial Republic Day parade marches down Rajpath but dense fog and resultant low visibility may dampen the jubilation, according to Met predictions on Thursday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted "dense fog" on Friday morning in Delhi, reducing visibility to around 400 metres till 8.30 a.m.
This may hamper the view of the breathtaking flypast by the Indian Air Force fighter jets, one of the key attractions of the parade.
"The chances of rain (on Friday) are bleak as of now but there will be dense fog in the morning over Delhi," a Met official said.
The visibility will improve gradually and by 11 a.m. it will increase to 800-900 metres. The visibility may improve faster if the wind blows.
The rest of the day will be sunny and the minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to hover around 6 degree Celsius and 20 degree Celsius respectively.
