Amid unprecedented security, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh reached Panchkula on Friday afternoon to hear the court verdict in a rape and sexual exploitation case.
Hundreds of supporters gathered close to the court complex despite prohibitory orders.
The sect chief, who enjoys Z-plus security cover from Haryana Police, left his headquarters near Sirsa town, about 260 km from here, on Friday morning and headed for the CBI special court in Panchkula, adjoining Chandigarh, accompanied by scores of cars full of supporters.
His motorcade was blocked briefly by his supporters at some places.
The sect chief was directed to appear personally in the court in a case pertaining to alleged rape and sexual exploitation of a former female disciple.

The Central Bureau of Investigation special court will give its verdict on Friday afternoon (around 2.30 pm) in the 15-year-old case.
Residents of Panchkula experienced curfew-like situation. Tension has prevailed in Haryana and Punjab during the past 72 hours in the build up to the verdict against the sect chief with thousands of his followers gathering in Panchkula, Sirsa and other places.
