The four surviving members of the 12-men terrorist cell responsible for attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils appeared at the Spanish National High Court here on Tuesday.

The four suspects arrived at the court around 8 a.m. (local time) after spending Monday night in the cells of the Civil Guard Headquarters in Tres Cantos town, Xinhua news agency reported.

The four face questions from High Court Judge Fernando Andreu, and are almost certain to be remanded in custody awaiting trial.

One of the terrorists, Mohamed Houli Chemal, was at a house in Alcanar where the group was believed to be preparing a bigger terrorist attack.

Dris Oukbar, Mohammed Alla and Salh Karib were arrested in Ripoll town to the north of Barcelona, where the majority of the terrorists were from.

Five other members of the terrorist cell were shot dead by police in Cambrils, two died in a gas explosion in Alcanar, and Younes Abouyaaqoub, the suspected driver of Thursday's deadly Barcelona van, was shot and killed by police near Subirats town on Monday.

Fifteen persons were killed and about 120 injured in the attacks.
