India and Pakistan have decided to task their directors general of military operations to suggest effective means to restore ceasefire on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Indian Natural Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon, addressing media after the first talks between Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif, said that India has also conveyed to Pakistan that it will be possible to progress in talks after the "immediate situation" is dealt with.
"They decided to task the DGMOs to suggest effective means to restore the ceasefire," said Menon.
Both sides discussed all aspects of the relationship, he said.
