Dhoni wins toss, India choose to bat

India's captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat in the rain-delayed fourth cricket Test against England here Thursday.

India made three changes to the side that lost the third Test at Southampton while England retain the 11 that levelled the series 1-1.

India brought in experienced opener Gautam Gambhir for his Delhi teammate Shikhar Dhawan, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin comes in for batsman Rohit Sharma and fast bowler Varun Aaron replaces erratic Mohammad Shami.

Rain delayed the match by half an hour.

England: Alastair Cook (captain), Sam Robson, Gary Ballance, Ian Bell, Joe Root, Moeen Ali, Jos Buttler (wicketkeeper), Chris Woakes, Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Chris Jordan.

Umpires: Rod Tucker (Australia) and Marias Erasmus (South Africa).

Third Umpire: Rcihard Kettleborough (England).

Match Referee: Ranjan Madugalle (Sri Lanka).
