Atletico De Kolkata co-owner Utsav Parekh said Tuesday that Atletico Madrid's manager Diego Simeone is likely to attend the ISL semi final if the city franchise makes the cut for the last four.
"Diego Simeone is likely to attend the semifinals," he told media persons after the team's optional practice session at the Salt Lake stadium here.
Parekh scotched reports that there was a spat between Kolkata's marqee player-captain Luis Garcia and coach Antonio Lopez Habas after the side lost to the Kerala Blasters 1-2 last week.
"There has been no such controversy, Its been five matches and we have not played well. So Garcia had a word with the players in a closed door session. One thing led to the other and thus lasted for some 40 odd minutes."
On senior players like Fikru Teferra, Jofre Mateu and Garcia skipping the practice session during the day, Parekh said Tuesday's "practice session was optional, they are at the gymnasium, exercising".
Team co-owner and former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly would have a motivational session with the players Wednesday. He is also likely to travel with the team for the away matches against FC Pune City and Delhi Dynamos.
Parekh said it was "99 percent (that) Sourav will be there with me for the Pune and Delhi matches".
