Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov and Japan's Kei Nishikori are set to meet in the final of the Brisbane Open tennis tournament after respectively beating the tournament's two top favourites, Canada's Milos Raonic and Swiss Stan Wawrinka here on Saturday.
The world No. 17 Dimitrov upset world No. 3 Raonic, the last champion of the Australian tournament, in 87 minutes by 7-6 (9-7) 6-2, reports Efe.
On his way to Sunday's final, Dimitrov defeated American Steve Johnson and Frenchman Nicolas Mahut in the first and second rounds and then added two prestigious victories against Austrian Dominic Thiem and Canadian Milos Raonic.
Now he hopes to get his first win against Kei Nishikori, winner in the three previous meetings between them.
The Japanese player, who defeated Wawrinka 7-6 (7-3) 6-3, has already defeated Dimitrov in the 1,000 Masters in Shanghai (2013), Miami (2014) and, most recently, Canada (2016).
