Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov won the final of the ATP 250 Garanti Koza Sofia Open with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over David Goffin of Belgium.
Dimitrov on Sunday lifted his second Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) title for this season and the sixth in his career, warmly applauded by 12,000 spectators in Arena Armeec Hall, reports Xinhua news agency.
Thanks to his excellent performance this season, which includes 14 wins and only one loss against Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open semi-final, Dimitrov will climb to the 12th place in the ATP rankings.
"I would like to thank my mom and dad, my team and coach Dani Vallverdu. I also say thank you to the great audience. Without it I would not have won. This trophy means a lot to me," Dimitrov said at the award ceremony.
