Legislators of the DMK were Tuesday suspended for rest of the Tamil Nadu assembly session for their behaviour which was not held in consonance with the dignity of the house.
According to Speaker P. Dhanapal, the DMK members had used objectionable words and also disrupted the proceedings.
The house had earlier seen noisy scenes with DMK protesting some remarks made by Revenue Minister R.B. Udhayakumar. The party members were evicted by the marshals on the speaker's orders.
In response, the DMK has decided to hold public meetings across the state against the action.
