Urging the BJP and the Congress not to politicise surgical strikes across LoC, K.C. Tyagi of JD(U) on Thursday said that it was not expected from political parties like them.

"We don't approve Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi using word 'dalal' for Prime Minister Narendra Modi," he told IANS, adding that there should be no politics on the issue.

He also criticised the BJP for making the strikes an election issue in Uttar Pradesh.

"The BJP should not have made it election issue in the poll-bound state," he said, adding that both the national parties should behave and keep the issue separate from politics.

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi had accused Modi of doing "dalali" over the blood shed by Indian soldiers.
