Donison to represent India at world karting finals

Racing driver Ricky Donison will represent India at the Rotax World Grand Finals to be held in Portugal later this month, where he will face top champions from more than 70 countries.

He become eligible to join the race after winning the JK Tyre National Rotax Max Karting Championship in the senior max category last month.

Donison has been racing for just three years and in that short space of time he has established himself quickly. In 2013, he was awarded the best newcomer of the year in junior max of the National Championship. He continued his pursuit and won the 2014 National Championship in the same category.

 

In 2015, he moved to senior max. His focus was on two championships in 2015 -- Rotax Asia Max Championship in Malaysia and the JK Tyre National Championship in India.

Donison won the last two rounds in Asia Cup and finished an overall fourth in the championship and became the first ever Indian to break into the top-5 in Asia.

He continued his success with excellent driving in India and became the national champion in his first year of senior category. On his way, he also captured five out of five pole positions in as many rounds of the championship. He won four out of the five rounds.
