Borussia Dortmund's Marco Reus will be sidelined for two weeks with torn muscle fibres, the German club confirmed in an official statement.
Dortmund's worst fears came true as Reus will be ruled out for the "Revierderby" against rivals Schalke due to an adductor injury, the club said on Friday, reports Xinhua.
The German international limped off the pitch at the halftime after Thursday's 4-0 victory over Gabala in Europa League.
It's a major setback for Dortmund as Reus scored four goals in his last three Bundesliga appearances.
According to Dortmund's statement, it is likely that Reus can make his comeback against Hamburg at the 13th round of Bundesliga.
They currently sit at the second place with a five-point gap to front-runners Bayern Munich.
