The 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who scored a record 25 goals in the Ukrainian Premier League last season, will join the German club for 27.5 million euros, reports Xinhua.
Mkhitaryan is widely recognised as being one of the best players in the Ukrainian Premier League and Armenia national football team.
The attacking midfielder has spent almost three years in Donetsk and scored 44 goals in 106 appearances. For his country, Mkhitaryan has scored 11 goals since 2007, when he joined the national team.
