Driving instructor held for duping 13 trainees

The Delhi police arrested a 33-year-old driving instructor for allegedly cheating 13 trainees on the pretext of financing e-rickshaws here, police said on Wednesday.

"The accused Rajan Taneja worked as an instructor in 'Bahal Motors' for training e-rickshaw drivers at Subhash Nagar," Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vijay Kumar said.

He was arrested on Tuesday by a police team from Rohini area," the DCP added.

The incident came to light on February 18 this year when Rajiv Bahal who runs an e-rickshaw training institute filed a complaint with police that Rajat Taneja, who worked as an instructor in his institute, duped 13 trainees of Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 on the pretext of financing e-rickshaws.

 

Taneja was on the run since than, the officer added.
