Drizzle in Delhi, mercury to drop on Saturday

Despite drizzling in the national capital, it remained a warm and humid day on Friday here, with the maximum temperature rising slightly to 35.3 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.

The evening, however, was pleasant with light rain lashing most parts of Delhi and the surrounding regions.

According to the Met Department, Saturday would also see similar weather conditions, with the possibility of light rain keeping the maximum and minimum temperatures around 34 and 27 degrees, respectively.

On Friday, the minimum temperature recorded was 28 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.

While light to moderate rainfall was recorded in various parts of the capital, Palam area saw maximum rainfall at 26.2 mm.

 

Safdarjang experienced 1.6 mm rainfall, Lodhi Road 0.6 mm and there was trace of very light rain in the Ridge area and Ayanagar.

"Saturday will see light rains... The mercury is expected to dip by a degree," said an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The humidity on Friday oscillated between 61 and 89 per cent.

Thursday's maximum temperature stood at 34.7 degrees, while the minimum temperature was 25.2 degrees Celsius.
