Expediting the process of appointing principals, the Delhi University on Wednesday wrote to colleges asking them to submit a formal request for the Vice Chancellor to send his nominee to be part of the selection committee
"Kindly send formal request to the university for providing one nominee of the Vice Chancellor and a panel of six experts approved by the Academic Council for associating three subject experts with the selection committee," said the letter addressed to the governing body chairmen of several colleges.
It also asked the colleges to respond to the letter within three days to call a meeting of the selection committee for recommending names for the posts of principal.
A total of 26 colleges in the university are without principals at the moment and as many have advertised.
Dean of Colleges Devesh Sinha told IANS that it was difficult to say by when the hiring will be complete.
"It is difficult to say since the process will be done by the colleges now at their end... However, all colleges are likely to have principals by July, before the next session starts," Sinha said.
