A 20-year-old Delhi University student was critically injured after she fell from the third floor of the college building here on Thursday, police said.

Sujata, a third year B.A. (Prog) student of Vivekananda College in east Delhi's Vivek Vihar, went to sit for an examination at around 9 a.m and fell from the third floor window which did not have a grille around 12.45 p.m, police said.

'The victim had come to give her exam today. She fell down from the third floor window which did not have a grille. She has been admitted to Max hospital in Patparganj. Her condition is said to be critical,' Deputy Commissioner of Police Rishi Pal said.

We are investigating the matter from all possible angles but it appears to be a case of attempted suicide, Pal added.

Prima facie it appears that she may be depressed over not performing well in the exam. No note was found from her possession, police said.
