Brazil coach Dunga will take charge of the country's Olympic team at the Rio 2016 Games, the Brazilian football federation (CBF) said in a statement.

Dunga replaces Alexandre Gallo, who was sacked after more than two years as manager of Brazil's under-20 and under-23 teams, Xinhua reported.

Mario Rogerio Reis Micalle has been named coach of the under-20 side, which will compete in the World Cup in New Zealand from May 30 to June 20.

"The Olympic squad will be led by Dunga until the 2016 Olympics," the CBF said.

The Olympics are the only major international football tournament that Brazil has never won.

Mano Menezes led the team to the final of the 2012 tournament in London, which the South Americans lost 2-1 to Mexico at Wembley stadium.
