Two youngsters were arrested Wednesday from Sambhal district for making a threatening telephone call to Uttar Pradesh's Urban Development Minister Mohd. Azam Khan, officials said.

The duo, real brothers, had called up the minister on his personal mobile phone May 27 when Khan was in Sambhal to inaugurate a medical college.

During the function, Khan received a phone call in which a youngster threatened to blow him up with a bomb. A police complaint was lodged immediately at the Sambhal kotwali police station and a probe ordered.

Sambhal Superintendent of Police (SP) Tehsildar Singh told IANS that the investigation had been handed over to the Special Task Force (STF).

"The STF was on their trail through electronic surveillance and we managed to nab them today (Wednesday)" the police official said. Both are transporters and have been identified as Ameen and Aabid.

A case under sections 504 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) has been slapped on them and their mobile phone seized.
