Dutch apology over envoy's detention not enough: Russia

Russia is not satisfied with the apologies made by the Netherlands over detention of a Russian diplomat over child abuse allegation, the foreign ministry said here Thursday.

"The apologies given by the Netherlands cannot be considered the final point of what has happened," reported Xinhua citing ministry's spokesperson Alexander Lukashevich during a press briefing.

The Dutch side has not answered the questions asked by Moscow, he added.

Dmitry Borodin, Russian minister-councilor in the Netherlands, was detained by unidentified men earlier this month over alleged child abuse. He was released Oct 8 with no charges filed against him.

Russia has demanded the Dutch side punish the masterminds of that provocation and to replenish material and moral damage to the diplomat's family.

"We expect these questions to be answered during a meeting between Russian ambassador to the Netherlands (Roman) Kolodkin and the director of the Department for Protocol of the Dutch Foreign Ministry planned for today," Lukashevich said.
