Electronic bidding for the development of the analytics themed township in Kalyani - just 50 km from Kolkata - will begin mid-December this year, West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation said.

A request for proposal (RFP) has been floated in this regard on its website.

As per the RFP, November 17 has been fixed as the last date for receiving inquiries from prospective bidders while the bid will open on December 8 in the evening.

The e-auction for the 50 acres of land on a 99-year lease has been fixed on December 15.

According to the RFP, 25 percent of the total residential units in the township shall be reserved for economically weaker sections of the society.

"The maximum consideration of a EWS Dwelling Unit shall not exceed Rs 3 lakhs. The selection of beneficiaries shall be carried out by the lessor as per the policies of the state", the RFP read.

Another 25 percent of the net land proposed to be developed, excluding basic infrastructure amenities and basic public infrastructure, has to be compulsorily kept for non-residential thematic or economic development for which the township has been proposed.
