E-commerce website to empower artisans

A new e-commerce platform is aimed to support the country's handicraft ecosystem by providing artisans with a window through which they can directly sell their products online.

Kraftly, the e-commerce platform, has launched a category 'Krafts of India' through which the website plans to empower artisans. It will promote 18 art forms from 50 sellers.

Also, they want to help the buyers discover the lost art forms of India, all on a single platform, read a statement.

"Our aim is to bring a unique range of handicraft products to the wider range of buyers through our platform and to sustain the Indian culture and spirit under one roof. The categories will comprise of apparels, footwear, home decor, jewellery and much more," said Saahil Goel, Co-Founder and CEO, Kraftly.

 

The different crafts that will be available on the website include Banarsi, Madhubani, Kalamkari, Phulkari and Dhokra.

The brand also plans to include 40 more art forms, sourced from 100 different artisans and small sellers.
