Ecuador international midfielder Michael Arroyo has joined Gremio as the Brazilian football club bolsters its squad for the Copa Libertadores knockout phase.
The 30-year-old will be tied to the Porto Alegre outfit until December 2019 after parting ways with Mexico's Club America, reports Xinhua news agency.
He is the second Ecuador international in Gremio's squad, joining forward Miller Bolanos.
"I chatted briefly with Miller and he spoke really well of the group. I have been watching Gremio in the Copa Libertadores so I know the team well. I'm very happy to be here and I hope that I can help bring success to the club," Arroyo told Gremio's official website.
Gremio are currently second in Brazil's Serie A standings with seven wins from 10 matches.
The club's next fixture in the Copa Libertadores -- South America's top club competition -- is a round of 16 clash with Argentina's Godoy Cruz on July 4.
