The people, colourful clothes, streets and touristic sites of India are featured in Egyptian artist Ashraf Talaat's new exhibition that opened here as part of the mega 'India by the Nile' culture fest.
The exhibition, 'Images of India', was opened by India's Ambassador to Egypt Sanjay Bhattacharyya and his spouse Ranu Bhattacharyya with art lovers and India fans from across Cairo attending in large numbers, said a statement from the Indian embassy here.
For the past 16 years, artist Ashraf Talaat has been snapping photographs in India, capturing the spirit of the country which Egyptians call the land of wonders.
In his exhibition, Talaat displays a collection of photos, some of them taken only a few months ago and others taken five years ago.
Talaat said what attracts him the most in India is its people.
Ambassador Bhattacharyya praised the artist's work and said he hopes the exhibition tempts Egyptians to look at India and Indians who are just like them. He also added that he hopes to see more Egyptians travel to India and experience their own family across the seas, the statement said.
