IT infrastructure major Emerson Network Power Wednesday entered into a strategic alliance with NxtGen Data Centre and Cloud Service Ltd to offer its integrated smart solutions to Indian enterprises.

"The partnership will enable us to provide smart solutions to our customers across India using NxtGen's on-premises data centre services," Emerson Network Power managing director Sunil Khanna told reporters here.

As a subsidiary of the US-based $24-billion Emerson group, Emerson Network Power provides data centre infrastructure management solutions, bridging the gap between IT and facility management with software, hardware and services.

As a specialist IT infrastructure services provider, the city-based NxtGen is the only firm in the country to offer on-premises data centre services as a hybrid solution on a pay-by-use model from its operations centre.

"With enterprises looking for more computing power at reduced cost to increase efficiency through virtualisation, on-premise services and support becomes imperative for continued uptime on 24x7 basis," Khanna said on the occasion.

The partnership will enable NxtGen to deploy Emerson's software products SmartCabinet and SmartRow in the customers' network to drive their businesses.

"Our focus is on improving time-to-market by rapidly deploying smart solutions for the data services of our customers," Khanna said.

NxtGen managing director A.S. Rajgopal said cost-conscious enterprises preferred to run their core operations on IT platforms of third-party data centres, as setting up a data centre and operating it would be cost prohibitive in view of increasing energy prices.

"Emerson's smart solutions and our on-premises data centre services enable customers to build their IT infrastructure as they need and scale it to grow their business," Rajgopal said.
