Kim Mathers, the former wife of rapper Eminem, has paid tribute to her twin sister Dawn Scott, who reportedly died of drug overdose.

Scott is believed to have died at the Motor City Trailer Park in Detroit of "an apparent heroin overdose, pending a toxicology test" on Tuesday, according to a report.

Mathers, 41, has since reacted to her sibling's death taking to a tribute page on Lee Ellena Funeral Home's website, where she left a touching message about her "beautiful" sister who "lost her way", reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"Dawn was my sweet, beautiful sister who lost her way. I kept a light lit for her hoping she'd find her way back to me. I miss her and love her more than anything I could ever say," Mathers wrote in her message.

"I wish she was here so I could hug her and tell her I love her. Half of me is gone and I will never feel whole again. She made me laugh and kept me on my toes. She was the best sister and friend in the world and I will miss her until we are together again(sic)," she added.

Scott lived with Eminem and his former wife at his mother's trailer home when she was 15, and she is the birth mother of the former couple's daughter Aliana.
