Emmy Awards: 'Breaking Bad' wins big in drama category

American crime drama TV series 'Breaking Bad' got numerous trophies in the drama category at the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards here.

The show, which won Emmy Award for outstanding writing for the drama series Monday night and outstanding drama series, revolves around a struggling chemistry teacher, who is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer at the beginning of the series. It presents how he turns to a life of crimes to secure his family's financial future.

Aaron Paul bagged the outstanding supporting actor in the drama series for his performance in 'Breaking Bad'. His co-star Anna Gunn too went home with the outstanding supporting actress trophy for the drama series.

 

Bryan Cranston, who plays the protagonist Walter White in the show, bagged the outstanding lead actor trophy in the drama series. He was up against Oscar winning actors Matthew McConaughey and Kevin Spacey.

Julianna Margulies, who plays Alicia Florrick in 'The Good Wife', received the trophy for the outstanding lead actress in the drama series.

'True Detective' won the outstanding award for direction in the drama series category.

Joe Morton of 'Scandal' was handed over the trophy for the outstanding guest actor in the drama series.

Allison Janney, who also won trophy for the outstanding supporting actress in the comedy series earlier in the evening, won another award - outstanding guest actress in the drama series - for 'Masters Of Sex'.
