The fourth edition of Comic Con India will begin here Feb 7, hosting the best of illustrators, graphic artists and comic book writers from around the globe.

With a new venue, Thyagraj stadium, and introduction of a ticketing system from this year, the organisers are hoping the three-day festival will match up to international standards and create a space for like-minded people. It will end Feb 9.

"We are kick starting our fourth year in a big way by revamping our entire event, adding more exhibitors and content. There will be a lot more for the visitors to do at the event," Jatin Varma, founder, Comic Con India, said in a statement Wednesday.

"We aim to take the fan experience up a notch and bring it closer to the international standards. With the introduction of nominal ticketing, we hope to provide many more amenities to visitors and our participants," he added.

Earlier, the event used to take place at the compact Dilli Haat, making it a cramped affair, but the 50,000 sq ft space of the new venue will offer enough room to over 100 exhibitors to showcase their comic strips.

Apart from having the best of Indian comic book publishers, artists and illustrators, international personalities like Mark Waid, known for his work on Marvel Comics, Gabriel Ba, a Brazilian comic book artist known for his work on "The Umbrella Academy" and "Casanova", British comics artist David Lloyd, who is best known as the illustrator of the story "V for Vendetta" and American comics book writer John Steele Layman will be attending various sessions.

Comic Con India has also partnered with Charles M. Schulz Museum to bring a special "Inside Peanuts: The Life and Art of Charles M. Schulz" exhibit to India.

An American cartoonist, Schulz was known for his comic strip "Peanuts". The exhibition tracks the development of twelve main characters that make the world of "Peanuts".

Other than book launches, there will also be exclusive merchandise for comic lovers to indulge in.
