The Economic Offences Wing of Madhya Pradesh has raided the premises of a Co-operative Bank Manager and seized properties worth several crores.
The EOW Deputy Supreintendent of Police, Rajwardhan Maheshwari said that complaints against Narsinghpur District Co-operative Bank Manager Basant Kumar Patel had been received alleging that he owned properties much beyond his income.
Maheshwari and her team raided Patel's ancestral home and other premises.
The EOW raided several agricultural lands in seven places and recovered three kg of silver and 250 gms of gold jewellery. Two houses, a plot of land and several passbooks of different banks were also seized, Maheshwari said.
Additionally, vehicles including a Bolero, a Duster and a motorcycle were seized. A luxurious house, and Rs 35,000 in cash, were also found.
The EOW found that Patel had invested in several schemes, which would be probed. Maheshwari said bank lockers of Patel were being sealed.
