On the pattern of ETV regional news channels, TV18 is now launching three more news channels under the banner of News18. These news channels will be for Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the north-eastern states, a company statement said.
The channels have been named as News18 Tamilnadu, News18 Kerala and News18 Assam/NE, with a soft launch on Thursday. These channels are a part of Network18 group, the media house owned by Reliance Industries.
Initially, transmission of all the three channels will be from Hyderabad studios and shift to the respective state capitals from June. Jagdeesh Chandra who is the CEO of existing 10 ETV channels, shall also head the new regional channels.
