The 18th European Union Film Festival will screen movies like "Fast Girls", "Beyond" and "My Name Is Ki", which focus on different aspects of womanhood.
The European movies will be screened for the first time in India and will have mixed genres of comedy, drama and action. Entries from places like Italy, Romania, Britain, Swedan, Poland, Spain, Hungary and Ireland have been selected for the fest.
The 12-day fiesta, to be held May 8-19, will showcase 24 much-appreciated movies from across Europe. Some of these are "Water Lillies" from France, "The House" from Slovakia, "Take My Eyes" from Spain and "Princess" from Finland.
"During this festival, you will not only have the possibility of watching one film of each country of the European Union but you will the best films of the last two years produced in these countries. All of them have been awarded in their own countries but also Europe- or worldwide," Jean Philippe, director, Alliance Francaise, said in a statement.
"This festival will celebrate women. You will have the possibility to discover the different realities of women condition in the different countries and societies of EU. Finally, it is important to know that those films have never been screened in India," he added.
The movie's screenings will be held across five different venues here - British Council, Italian Cultural Centre, Hungarian Cultural Centre, Instituto Cervantes and Alliance Francaise de Delhi.
