The state government would ensure that every government school have at least one teacher each for physical training and music, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said here Thursday.
Addressing 'Samman Samaroh', a felicitation ceremony to honour the toppers of the state board of school education examinations, he said private schools were growing like mushrooms in the state.
He also said the government had decided to introduce the subjects Hindi, English and Mathematics from the first standard.
He said the main priority of the government was to open new schools in rural and far-flung areas with special emphasis to provide education to the girl child.
The chief minister also inaugurated the data centre of the school education board, constructed at a cost of Rs.4.90 crore.
