Former Brazil midfielder Doriva has been sacked as coach of Brazilian Serie A football club Atletico Goianiense after a poor run of results.
The announcement followed Atletico's 0-4 loss to Sport Recife on Thursday, a result that left them last in the 20-team standings with just two wins from 15 matches, reports Xinhua news agency.
"The club thanks Doriva for his efforts and wishes him the best in the future," Atletico said in an official statement.
Doriva, whose playing career included spells at Porto, Celta Vigo and Middlesbrough, led Atletico to just one win and two draws in his 10 matches in charge.
The 45-year-old was one of four coaches dismissed by Brazilian Serie A clubs this week. Others were Pachequinho (Coritiba), Roger Machado (Atletico Mineiro) and Alexandre Gallo (Vitoria).
