Celebrating its silver jubilee, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) has mounted an exhibition of all the audio-visual equipment it has been using and the multi-disciplinary documentation it has done using this equipment in the last 25 years.

The exhibition was inaugurated here Wednesday by actor and theatre personality Kulbhushan Kharbanda who said it beautifully documents the progression of technological changes over these two decades.

"This exhibition portrays the change in technology, how cinema has also progressed in every way from its production, content and picturisation. With technology the world is getting closer and it is fascinating to see how gradually we have progressed and adapted these technologies," he told reporters here.

The 69-year-old actor is most remembered for his performance as Shakaal in the movie "Shaan".

Apart from this exhibition, IGNCA is also organising a film festival where six documentaries will be screened highlighting the cultural vibrancy of tradition and changing techniques.

"We are going beyond the traditional platforms to archive our heritage and with technology you can bring out a lot to public domain," said IGNCA member secretary Dipali Khanna.

The exhibition is being held from Dec 11-20.
